Cuisinart Food Processing Recall Settlement

Class members in the Cuisinart Food Processing Blade Recall lawsuit claim that the  food processor machines in question were marketed as functional even though they did not function as advertised.  According to the lawsuit a recall was announced after some users of those Cuisinart models reported finding cracks in the blades from use of the food processors over time, which could on rare occasions cause portions of the blades to detach.  The Conair Corporation deny any actions of wrong doing but have agreed to a settlement in order to avoid further issue.

The following Cuisinart food processor blades are included in the lawsuit: CFP-9, CFP-11, DFP-7, DFP-11, DFP-14, DLC-5, DLC-7, DLC-8, DLC-10, DLC-XP, DLC-2007, DLC-2009, DLC-2011, DLC-2014, DLC-3011, DLC-3014, EV-7, EV-10, EV-11, EV-14, KFP-7 or MP-14.

  • The case is entitled¬†Chepiga v. Conair Corporation, and is listed as number 3:17-cv-01090
  • Class members will receive a replacement blade and a 3 year warranty for the replacement blade under the terms of the settlement
  • Those who do not receive a replacement blade by the deadline may receive a $15 check
  • All objections are due by¬†Feb. 26, 2018
  • Class members who are not happy with the terms of the settlement and would like to opt out can do so by¬†Feb. 26, 2018
  • The blade recall was announced on 12/13/16
  • Class members claim that the Conair Corporation violated the¬†New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act
